ramblings (on|of) the wired

init blog

hi world, i’m creating this blog to organize my thoughts, shout at the void, help strangers or friends or any other number of reasons. it was also important for me to have an outlet besides my partner, as my special interests take over and they can only hear me go on about the latest password manager, data leak or new programming langauge so many times–while they seemingly have infinite patience, i tend to over flow their buffer rather quickly. i don’t really know what it’ll look like. but i may dig through my vault of notes for technical topics and publish those publicly. also i’m thinking of setting up a “devlog” to post short form thoughts (again, just more screaming into the void) as a way to have some sovereignty over my thoughts and the ability to not be locked to any one platform.

i may eventually look at cross posting to my mastodon–honestly i’ve been thinking of switching instances away from mastodon.social; so we will see. but honestly, just use rss and release yourself from the algorithms. even decentralized reimaginations of social media networks just tie you down, and corral you [TODO: insert blog post to local music scene promoters on how they can use RSS and ICS calendar feeds instead of only using meta platforms]; when honestly, the answer has always existed and the web was built on it from the start.

i’m going to try writing this blog with zine and hosting it with codeberg pages and we’ll see how that goes. of course in my brain, i wanted to try creating my own SSG and http server to host it on–but with what time.

nothing is permanent, everything is changing; but at the very least, i can try do things and use tools that are minimal and won’t be wasted efforts, and that i can own the thoughts that i’ve taken the time to write down (even if those “thoughts” are just ramblings or non-sensical notes on selfhosting/programming).

anyway, to you passerby within the vast digital soup that is the interweb: enjoy \( ゚ヮ゚)/
